A township task force appointed by the Yankton County Commission is looking at road funding issues of unorganized townships.
Commission Chairman Don Kettering says they have limited options for those roads…..

Under state law, it is the county that has to maintain roads in unorganized townships.
Kettering says they need to get some hard numbers on the costs to maintain those roads…..

Kettering says they need more information on the taxes paid, and the costs of the roads….

Kettering says they would like to have the information as they work through their 2018 budget this summer.
