The Yankton County Commission is dealing with more budget issues.
The commission this week approved a tax abatement over the sale of Lewis & Clark Specialty Hospital, and heard about an insurance increase.
When Avera Health bought the hospital, it came off the tax rolls. That will cost the county over one hundred fifty thousand dollars a year.
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says there are always unexpected changes…..
Woods says the county is limited in how they raise revenue…….
Woods says they need to grow the tax base….
Commissioners also heard that their casualty insurance costs will rise about twelve percent.
