Yankton County Sets Up Coronavirus Task Force, EOC Activated

A task force to prepare and respond to the coronavirus has been set up in Yankton County.

A news conference was held yesterday (Wednesday) to provide a status update.

County Emergency Services Director Paul Scherschligt says it brings together local governments and health care providers..

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital President Doug Ekeren says the preparations have been underway for some time….

Ekeren says they have set up a coronavirus testing center at their surgical hospital, away from the main campus…

Ekeren says they have adequate supplies and equipment on hand to handle any possible outbreak.
