The Yankton County Commission will listen to the public, then vote on seven applications for new hog barns at their meeting on July fifth.
The barns, which could each hold up to twenty-four hundred head of hogs, would be built in an area between Mission Hill and Volin.
Those who want to speak on the issue had to sign up at the County Auditor’s office.
Dan Grant, who lives near Mission Hill, is one of the over forty who signed up to speak…….

Grant says he is concerned that the permit decisions have already been made….

Grant says many in his rural neighborhood want to address the issue….

The Planning & Zoning Commission held a six-hour meeting earlier this month and approved the conditional use permits.
