Using variances in livestock production facility applications is being questioned. Several of the seven applications for large hog confinement facilities in Yankton County were asking for variances to site the buildings.
Brenden Gramkow, who lives near Mission Hill, says those variances should not be necessary…..

Gramkow says large livestock facilities should go where they will work without changes…..

Gramkow says they expect to see more livestock production applications…..

The seven applications were withdrawn by the developers after the County Commission sent them back to the Planning & Zoning Board.
