Concerns have been raised about the inability of Yankton Commissioners to secure a deal involving improvements and economic development potential for the NAPA Rail Junction.  Bruce Jensen serves as the Chairman of the Commission and says that although Dakota Plains of Parkston has chosen to build their grain facility elsewhere, the county sent a T.I.F. proposal to the company…

Jensen says he never opposed the deal with Dakota Plains, who have decided instead on Bon Homme County for their facility…

Jensen says the commission is not all to blame for the failure to make a deal that could have led to significant economic opportunity for the county…

Jensen says that the possibility for development along the NAPA rail junction is not out of the question for future opportunities that arise, and they will continue to wait on the results of their TIF funding proposal.
