The Yankton County Commission took another step toward financing improvements for a possible grain loading facility at the Napa rail junction.

Dakota Plains of Parkston has been interested in the location, but are now also exploring possible sites in Bon Homme and Clay counties.

Commissioner Garry Moore laid out details of tax increment financing of up to one point three million dollars…

While Dakota Plains talked about a multi phase project at the junction, Moore said the commission can only work with what they have in front of them…

While Dakota Plains had been pushing for quick action on the rezoning and TIF package, they have not signed any agreement yet. Commissioner Allen Sinclair said the county did not back away from the deal…

The commission voted four to one to send the proposed TIF outlines to the county planning commission.
