As temperatures warm, and the snow starts to melt, load limit signs will soon appear on state and county highways.
The Yankton County Commission has passed a resolution putting a six ton per axle, and an eighty-thousand-pound total limit on vehicle weights.

Commission Chairman Todd Woods says they are trying to find a balance between ag producers, and trying to save county roads…..

Woods says the heavy loads are hard on roads that are already breaking up……

Woods says they are working on permits for those that need to move heavier loads…..

The load limit signs will likely go up in early March.
