A group of contractors met with the Yankton County Commission, concerned about the effects of the road load limits that go into effect next week.
The commission had adopted limits of six tons per axle, with a maximum vehicle weight of eighty thousand pounds.
Jason List of List Construction said that would stop several jobs he has already contracted……
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says they are trying to find a balance……
Woods says their road funding is already spread very thin….
Woods said they will talk about options and possibly have some changes on the agenda of their March twentieth meeting. The load limits will be in effect for six to eight weeks.
