Besides finding the money necessary for routine upkeep of roads and bridges, the Yankton County Commission has a problem with the bridge over the James River on Old Highway 50 northeast of Yankton.
The cost to replace that bridge could range up to eight million dollars, or more.
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says they don’t have a plan for that bridge right now…..
Woods says they will have to look for options to pay for the bridge….
Woods says they need voters to support the tax opt out, which will be on the November ballot……….
The county has set aside about one point one million dollars in replacement fund for that bridge.
