During their budget deliberations in July, the Yankton County Commission didn’t include any raises for county employees for 2017.
Tuesday they changed course and approved a two percent raise.
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says they saw enough budget savings to be able to afford the raises….

The two percent raise will cost the county about eighty eight thousand dollars next year.
Woods says they need to reward their employees…

Woods says they hope to see similar budge efficiencies next year….

Woods says they will carry over about two point three million dollars into next year’s budget.
