Yankton County Emergency Response to Car in Lake

The Yankton County Sheriff’s Office responded to Shore Drive off of Highway 52 at the Marina on Lewis & Clark Lake Saturday night for a vehicle that drove into the water near the (G) Dock.
A 2022 Silver in color GMC Acadia, driven by 51-year-old Charles Spence of New Braunfels Texas was submerged in the marina with the victim trapped inside. Responding to the scene was the Game Fish & Parks, Yankton County EMS, Yankton Fire, and Emergency Management. The Sheriff’s office says the Yankton Search & Rescue team responded and was able to get the victim out of the vehicle so he could be transported to Avera Sacred Heart hospital in Yankton.
The victim was later transported to a hospital in Omaha Nebraska.
