The road and bridge task force of the Yankton County Commission gave their recommendations to the public and commission this week. They are recommending the commission consider alternative tax increases to fund road repairs. One would raise property taxes by sixty cents per thousand, the other would raise property taxes thirty cents per thousand and add up to four dollars wheel tax per vehicle.
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says he wants to hear more from the public…..

Woods says he knows tax increases are not popular…

Woods says he isn’t ready to support either tax alternative….

Woods says they will take up the issue again at their first meeting in June.
