The Yankton County Commission has been through a couple of long stormy sessions dealing with applications for large hog production facilities.
Seven applications were withdrawn by developers after the commission sent them back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for more details.

Much of the opposition to the applications was due to variances that were requested. Kettering says that is a normal part of most zoning requests……

There are no current applications pending for new livestock facilities.
