Yankton County Commission Moving Ahead with Hog Permit Hearings

Yankton County Commissioner Gary Swensen has sent a letter to Commission Chairman Don Kettering, asking that the scheduled July fifth meeting of the Board of Adjustment to consider several hog confinement applications be delayed. Swensen asked that the rules be suspended to move the meeting to a larger facility, and that each person be allowed ten minutes to offer input.

The board will consider seven conditional use permits for hog barns in the Mission Hill and Volin areas that could each hold up to twenty four hundred head of hogs.
