It took a couple of tries, but the Yankton County Commission passed a revised budget for next year. The commission held a special meeting Thursday to cut the budget to match the reduced revenue they will see following the failed tax increase measures.
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says they cut the highway department budget significantly…..

Woods says they managed to pass the budget after agreeing to designate revenue from the county jail…..

Commissioners also started a discussion of a major change in the operations of the highway department………

The tax measures that were rejected by voters would have raised over eight hundred thousand dollars a year for roads and bridges.
