The Yankton County Commission has passed a property tax opt out and an increase in the wheel tax to fund ongoing road expenses.
Those measures could be referred to a public vote with a petition drive, as happened last year.
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says all they can do is tell the public their situation…..
Woods says they will have all the tax information on the county website….
Woods says he was pleased they finally got some public input….
Petitions would have to be turned in within twenty days of the official publication of the resolution. It would take petitions with five percent of registered voters to force the election.
