Another large group of citizens came to the Yankton County Commission meeting Tuesday, and roads again were their prime concern.
Complaints were made about the amount of money the county spends to maintain roads in un-organized townships. Those who live in organized townships usually pay more in property taxes to maintain their gravel roads.
Commission Chairman Don Kettering says the county is required to maintain roads in un-organized townships…..

Kettering says they can’t force people to organize a township…..

Kettering says he wants to put together a committee to come up with some ideas…

Reports showed those who live in un-organized townships received more in county services than was paid in property taxes.
