The Yankton County Commission may be looking at tax and fee increases again in an effort to find more money for roads.
Commissioner Don Kettering headed up a task force looking for solutions to the road funding issue. That task force was formed after voters rejected a ninety cent per thousand increase in property taxes in a special election last September.
Kettering says the task force looked at all possible funding ideas…..

Kettering says the task force came up with some alternatives….

Kettering says without new money, they will see a budget deficit as soon as next year…..

Commissioners are facing a deadline of mid-July to initiate any new taxes that would be effective next year.
