The Yankton County Commission has officially declared an emergency following record flooding on the James River.
Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says that is only the first step…

All four county maintained James River bridges were closed due to the high water and a number of other roads were inundated.
Klimisch says they don’t have any damage estimates yet…

Klimisch says they were just getting caught up on road and bridge damage from the March flooding….

Klimisch was asked how the county could pay for the repairs…

It may be some time next week before the water drops and the bridges can be reopened.
