Yankton County Commission Cuts Back Planning Commission Membership

The Yankton County Commission has approved a plan to reduce the membership of the Planning Commission. Currently at thirteen members, there are three open seats. Commissioners voted to replace one member now.
Commission Chairman Don Kettering says most counties don’t have large Planning Commissions……

Kettering says they will continue to cut the commission membership back over the next few years…

The Planning Commission is in the midst of a review of county zoning laws with an eye toward large livestock development. Kettering says the timing of the commission reduction isn’t an issue…..

The commission will hold a special meeting Monday night to review the progress the Planning Commission is making in zoning revisions.
