Yankton County Commission Begins Process of Land Buying for Napa Road

The Yankton County Commission held a special meeting today to begin the process of buying land for the road expansion into the Napa rail junction.
Dakota Plains is planning to build a large grain loading facility at the site, and the road needs to be upgraded to handle truck traffic.
Commission Chairman Todd Woods says the land will be needed to widen the road….

Woods says the land has been appraised and offer prices set….

Woods says States Attorney Rob Klimisch (clim-ish) will send letters to the affected landowners….

Woods says if they can’t reach agreement with a landowner then they will go through the condemnation process.
