Yankton County Commission Approves Pay Raise & One Time Payment

The Yankton County Commission approved a one point two percent raise for county employees this year along with a one time payment to counter inflation.

Commission Chairman Joe Healy says they need to make changes to their future pay structure….

Commissioner Cheri Loest made the motion for the extra payment….

Healy says they need to be competitive long term to hang on to their employees…..

Loest said the median yearly pay for county employees last year was about forty two thousand dollars.
