Yankton County Highway Superintendent Brian Gustad presented his proposed five-year highway plan to the County Commission this week. He says all projects will be listed along with the funding source for them…………
Commissioner Deb Bodenstedt was referring to the proposed tax levy increase that would be dedicated to road work.
Gustad and Commission Chairman Todd Woods talked about the chances they would have to get state road grants….
Gustad says the state funding formula has changed in the past couple of years…..
The tax increase would provide an additional eight hundred thousand dollars a year for roads and bridges. The tax opt out has been referred to a vote in November. The road plan will be up for a vote by the commission in October.
