The Yankton County Commission is taking a slow course toward any type of dairy or livestock expansion.
A couple of public meetings have been held to talk about a proposed dairy overlay district that would be centered around Highways 81 and 46.
Zoning Administrator Pat Garrity told the commission that he wants some outside information for their next overlay meeting….

Commissioner Donna Freng says they have to be cautious in any expansion discussion….

Commissioner Don Kettering and Freng debated issues surrounding any manure disposal of a large livestock facility….

The next dairy overlay meeting is set for August 22nd.
