The Yankton County Commission has been cleared of a charge of violating the open meetings law.

Randy Gliech had accused the board of not providing proper notification for a special meeting held on July fifteenth. At that meeting, commissioners approved a tax levy increase for county roads. That would increase property taxes by ninety cents per thousand dollars of valuation.

States Attorney Rob Klimisch says he sent the allegation to a neighboring county…

Klimisch says the review found no violations…

Commissioner Don Kettering then asked Klimisch this question…

Gliech led the petition drive that put the proposed tax hike on the ballot. Yankton County voters will decide the tax hike next Tuesday in a special election.
