The Yankton City Commission will be asked to make some budget adjustments to keep a school resource officer.
City Manager Amy Nelson says they looked for some alternative funding……
Current SRO Dan Thompson will be retiring at the end of the school year.
Nelson says they will add another officer to the police department……
Nelson says they will delay buying one police car next year to make room in the budget…..
Nelson says the cost, about sixty five thousand dollars, will be split with seventy five percent paid by the city, and the rest by the school district.
