The City of Yankton got some good news in the latest sales tax report from the state.

Taxes for July were up just under nine percent, with total taxes for the year now running one point nine percent above last year.
City Manager Amy Nelson says they will continue to watch the returns…..

Nelson says they had hoped sales taxes would rebound in the summer months….

Nelson had made some budget cuts when sales taxes went negative earlier this year. She says they are starting to reverse some of those….

Nelson says next year’s budget was put together with no increase expected in sales tax returns.
