Yankton City Sales Taxes Continue Positive Trend

City sales tax returns in Yankton showed another positive result in March with an increase of almost two and a half percent over March of last year. Taxes are also over three-point six percent ahead year to date.

City Manager Amy Leon says it’s a normally slower time of year..

The Triple “B” tax had a positive month for the first time since last August, with a rise of three-point two percent.
Leon says they are getting close to even for the year to date collections….

Leon says she is optimistic the travel and tourism part of the taxes will continue to rebound…

The Huether Family Aquatic Center is set to open in late May, and Riverboat Days is set to return in August to bookend the summer season.
