Yankton City Commission Votes to Keep Summit Activities Center Open

The Yankton City Commission, holding a special meeting Monday night, voted unanimously to continue operating the fitness center at the Summit Activities Center.

The upcoming budget called for the city to stop offering services there.

The vote came after over two hours of public input on keeping the center open.

Mayor Stephanie Moser said they appreciated the showing….

Moser says that will mean some other difficult budget decisions ahead…..

Several speakers offered to serve on a committee to help guide the future of the Summit Center. Moser says the city appreciated the help…..

Memberships in the SAC have dwindled over the past few years mostly due to closures related to the pandemic.
