Yankton City Commission to Reconsider Emergency Ordinance

The Yankton City Commission will hold a special meeting this afternoon (Friday) to reassess the emergency ordinance that forced many businesses to close.

Mayor Nathan Johnson says they are following up on a new executive order from Governor Kristi Noem….

The city ordinance limited public gatherings and closed bars and restaurants.

Johnson says it is difficult to keep the city closed when others are reopening…

Johnson says good leadership is recognizing and reacting to changing situations..

The meeting is set for 4PM today and will be streamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
