The Yankton City Commission will debate another resolution supporting agriculture at their meeting Monday night.
Yankton Area Progressive Growth had approached the commission, asking them to take a supportive position on ag development. Opponents of large livestock facilities also appeared, urging the commission to not pass that type of resolution.
Mayor Jake Hoffner says he isn’t sure what any resolution will do…..

The resolution would put the commission on the side of “safe and sustainable agriculture, both large and small.” Hoffner says he isn’t sure where the commission will go……

Hoffner says the resolution may lead to better cooperation with the county commission….

The city commission meets Monday night, 7PM at the R-TEC building.
