Yankton City Commission Talks Medical Marijuana

The Yankton City Commission held a work session before their regular meeting last (Monday) night to talk about medical marijuana.

City Manager Amy Leon says all the cities in the state are in the same situation….

Leon says her recommendation is that the commission move rapidly in setting up a regulatory and zoning framework…

City Attorney Ross Den Herder told the commission they can’t use zoning to freeze out a potential medical marijuana business…

No action can be taken during a work session so any zoning rules or ordinances would come at a later commission meeting.
