If the new aquatic facility is built in Yankton’s Fantle Memorial Park, it will be called the “Huether Family Aquatic Center.”
The Yankton City Commission approved the name at their meeting last Monday night.

City Manager Amy Leon (lee-own) outlined the process….

Yankton native and former Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether and his family have offered a one-million-dollar donation to help build the outdoor facility.

Leon says the donation can be made over time…

Mayor Nathan Johnson says the city appreciates the donation…

Leon says that donation along with other contributions depend on voters approving a property tax opt out in the special election on December eleventh.
