Yankton City Commission Approves First Step in Wastewater Plant Upgrades

The Yankton City Commission approved the final payment this week on the new water treatment plant with the total cost at thirty four point eight million dollars.
The attention will now move to repairs and upgrades at the wastewater treatment plant.
City Manager Amy Leon says age and damage is catching up to the plant..

Leon says the plan would make major changes to the entire plant…

Leon says they are asking for approval of the design phase..

The entire project could take three to five years. The City Commission approved the contract at their meeting earlier this week.
