The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Park Service are once again holding Yankton’s annual Bald Eagle Days. Karla Zeutenhorst is a park ranger with the Corps of Engineers and says the event is designed to celebrate our nation’s symbol and educate visitors about bald eagles.
Zeutenhorst says in addition to learning about the captive birds, attendees will have the chance to view bald eagles along the dam from the visitor center.
She says in the past, the program has attracted up to one thousand people each day. This year’s Bald Eagle Days are set for January 24th and 25th at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center. Each program will begin at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. The program is free to the public.
