Yankton Armed Robbery Suspects Captured

All five suspects in an armed robbery and a home invasion in Yankton Tuesday night have been arrested in Mitchell.
23 year old Hailee Horn, of Parkston,23 year old Demil Spears of Chicago; 24 year old Debonjae Strong of Chicago; 26 year oldJo Thomas of Chicago; and 25 year old Derrell Williamson of Chicago, were arrested Wednesday morning in connection to the two incidents.
According to a release from the Yankton Police Department, a report was received at 9:27 p.m. Tuesday of an attempted home invasion in the 1300 block of Cedar St. The homeowner was able to scare off three individuals without incidents.
At 10:31 p.m., residents at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Walnut St. reported being robbed at gunpoint by four individuals.
An investigation determined that the two incidents were related and the suspects had left the area.
The Mitchell police subsequently made contact with the suspects’ vehicle during the night and arrested two males
Yankton Police Chief Brian Paulsen says search warrants are being executed on cars and a residence connected to the suspects in Mitchell seeking weapons and stolen property. Members of the Yankton Police Department are in Mitchell assisting with the investigation.
Police are still looking for a 2013 black Ford F150 pickup truck, license plate number 8DD419 in connection to the robbery.
Paulsen said the victims had been sought out by the suspects, and that the public is not in danger.
The investigation is continuing.
