World Rabies Day is a sober reminder that an estimated 50-thousand people throughout the world die of rabies each year, mainly as a result of bites from infected dogs. Dr. Courtney Wheeler is with the Minnesota Board of Animal Health and says so far this year there have been 24 reported cases of rabies in Minnesota
The most common rabies virus carriers in Minnesota are skunks and bats.
