A shortage of workers is hitting all parts of the U.S. economy including agriculture. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Director of National Affairs Jordan Dux says that labor shortage covers most sectors of agriculture.

He says workers are needed whether it be food processing, cattle and dairy operations and ag support businesses.

Dux says Congress needs to work on solutions to the Ag labor problem including passing immigration reform and getting people off unemployment rolls due to the pandemic and back to work.

Dux says his group is keeping engaged with Congress on this ag labor shortage issue and ready to weigh in on any possible solutions.
