WNAX Radio was honored with several “Eric Sevareid” awards at the Midwest Broadcast Journalism Conference over the weekend in Bloomington Minnesota.
The conference is made up of broadcast and print journalists, educators and students from a six state region.
Over 770 entries were received in the broadcast competition.
The awards are named for Sevareid, a long time CBS News correspondent, who was also a native of North Dakota.
WNAX won First Place awards in: website for WNAX.COM, newscast for “WNAX News at 7AM, hard feature for “Opening a Closed Meeting,” general reporting for “Sick Building at USD,” broadcast writing for “Alberta Fires.” and series for “Tornado Rips Through Delmont, SD,”.
WNAX received Awards of Merit for the “WNAX Morning Report.” sports reporting for “No More Football,” spot news for “Ethanol Train Derailment”, and sports play by play for “Illinois State at SDSU football”.
