The signup deadline is quickly approaching for farm program signup and to buy crop insurance for fall planted crops like winter wheat. Derek Kuhl, crop insurance specialist with Farm Credit Services in Yankton says there are two risk management programs under the new farm bill.
He says farmers can also signup for the supplemental crop insurance coverage option or SCO for wheat if they enroll in the PLC program.
The signup deadline for crop insurance and farm programs for winter wheat is September 30.
