Winter Like Weather Sets Back Field Work

The winter like storm this spring over the weekend in the Northern Plains pushed back field work in Northwest, Iowa. That’s according to Iowa State University Extension Field Agronomist Joel DeJong. He says last week, some producers were getting ready for spring planting with some pre field work.

He says while the recent wet weather will prevent any work this week, things are still in pretty good shape for getting crops in the ground on timely basis.

DeJong says despite the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic, most farmers have been able to get the supplies they need to keep operating on an efficient basis.

DeJong says producers should make sure they have some type of back up plan in place in case they’re effected by the coronavirus so they can keep operating.
