The track is starting to come together for a potential winter storm across the northern plains late this week.
Dennis Todey, head of the Midwest Climate Hub for the USDA in Ames Iowa, says that is pretty typical development….
Todey, former South Dakota State Climatologist, says they are watching weather developments upstream……
Temperatures in Siberia have been running some fifty degrees below normal, with heavy snow in the last few weeks.
Todey says it doesn’t look like the plains states will see a sharp cold snap…..
Todey says it looks more likely that a La Nina will take place this winter, which could mean below normal temperatures and above normal snow.
