There are plenty of Nebraskans suffering from winter illness.  Dr. Chelsea Navarrette   is an internist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center – Nebraska Medicine and says in the last week alone they have treated many more patients for influenza.  She says there is another illness similar to influenza that is also a concern for some.

Navarrette says those who think they coming down with the flu shouldn’t wait too long to call their doctor.

Flu symptoms include fever, a dry, hacking cough, sore throat, chills, severe muscle or body aches, headache, stuffy nose and fatigue that could last several weeks.  Dr. Navarrette says another illness that is making the rounds now is the norovirus that causes diarrhea and vomiting for a few days.
