Tax Extenders legislation in the U.S.Senate is bogged down due to bickering between Senate leaders. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid want a medical device tax extension kept in the bill because it helps pay for Obama care. Meanwhile, Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden wants that tax repealed because it stifles innovation. South Dakota Wind Energy Association Executive Director Paul Bachman says it’s unfortunate that’s holding up approving the needed wind production tax credit
Bachman says wind energy investors need the certainty that a production tax credit brings for them to push projects ahead. He says there seems to be a lot of support for passing the tax extenders and politics is getting in the way.
Bachman and several Senators believe that if they can get past this recent holdup and get the measure to the Senate floor that it will pass.
