The We Care group is urging Lincoln County South Dakota voters to vote YES today on a proposed wind setback ordinance. We Care spokesperson Winnie Peterson says they’re not opposed to wind projects, but want a proper setback as outlined in the ordinance on the ballot.

She says a setback of five to six city blocks is needed from a 500 foot wind tower and that’s why they’re supporting a YES vote on the ballot measure.

Peterson says her group wants voters to make an informed decision when they go to vote today.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. today.
