Wind Official Wants Long Term Policy Fix

Utah Senator Orrin Hatch who takes over as Finance Committee chairman early next year plans to take up and pass legislation to authorize selected tax credits for more than one year. South Dakota Wind Energy Association Executive Director Paul Bachman is pleased to hear that. He says wind projects need more certainty than what was contained in the just passed tax extender’s bill.
Bachman says the extender’s bill did provide some help as it reauthorized the wind production tax credit but that will be short lived.
Bachman says some longer term relief could come next year if Congress can pass an energy bill including renewable tax credits.
