Dakota Power Community Wind officials are midway to their equity goal in raising funding for their project to be built in Southern Lincoln County South Dakota. DPC Wind Board Treasurer Brian Minish says they began holding equity meetings two months ago and have more scheduled for this week.
Minish says their wind project is unique in that once constructed they hope to hook onto a planned large scale transmission project in Northwest Iowa.
Minish says they hope to complete their equity drive sometime in September and begin environmental testing shortly after that. He says they have meetings scheduled for tonight and Wednesday night in Sioux Falls starting at 7 at the Ramkota. Subsequent equity meetings will be held in Pierre, Oacoma, Aberdeen and Huron.
