A four to three vote by the Lincoln County Planning and Zoning Commission will allow a wind energy company to place five weather towers in the area of a proposed wind energy development.

Dakota Power Community Wind is proposing a wind farm that could generate up to five hundred megawatts of power, with towers across parts of Lincoln and Union Counties.
Peterson says they remain opposed to the proposed project…
The decision by the planning and zoning commission could be appealed to the full county commission.
