Tuesday the U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan amendment offered by Iowa’s Chuck Grassley and Oregon’s Jeff Merkley. Senator Grassley says it restores wind energy research funding for fiscal year 2017 to the level provided for the current fiscal year and doesn’t call for any new spending.
Grassley says the additional funds come from within the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy program.
The amendment passed 54 to 42 as part of the Senate consideration of the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.
